Energy Department- Commercial Efficiency -
IID’s Custom Energy Solutions Program is designed to promote energy efficiency by offering financial incentives to commercial customers who install energy-efficient equipment. Through the program, IID provides qualifying customers with technical expertise to identify energy efficiency measures and cost savings opportunities. Qualifying customers, should apply for a preliminary energy analysis to determine full eligibility. The program is available to all medium and large IID commercial customers located within the service area. Financial incentives are based on annual energy savings and are intended for the customer’s use in the purchase and installation of qualifying lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning, food service, agricultural and/or controls equipment. Incentives are based on the following cents per kWh for one year of energy savings: $0.07/kWh Lighting
$0.09/kWh Process Loads
$0.14/kWh HVAC/Refrigeration The goal with all energy efficiency measures is to improve the efficiency of customer’s business facilities. Qualifying measures must retrofit, replace or upgrade old equipment with new, energy efficient technologies that exceed the applicable Title 24 energy efficiency requirements as established by the California Energy Commission or current industry standards using IID-approved project baselines (if Title 24 standards are not applicable).
Please note: rebate funding is limited. Applications for rebates totaling $2,500 or more require pre-approval by calling IID's Energy Management & Strategic Marketing section at 1-760-482-3505 to confirm funding availability and reserve rebate amount.
